My Review:

Detective Prosper Snow is in the thick of investigating a series of crimes committed by a killer known only as The Oracle. When one of his old buddies, from his high school group called The Kult, approaches him and the other members with a proposition, things start to get real sticky. They perform a copycat killing for the friend, and all hell breaks loose. Now Prosper must keep the police from finding out the truth about the copycat murder, and must keep a watchful eye out for The Oracle who seems to be gunning for Prosper and all who surround him.

Overall the story was good. I was a bit frustrated because I felt it started out slow, but it did pick up in the middle and the end. It was well written, although I will say it is not for the faint of heart. The murders are a bit graphic. There is a surprise twist in the end (I won't ruin it) but I actually figured it out before it was presented. =)

A thrilling read, that made me want to be a little more cautious about my surroundings.

Review: Night Shadows

My Review:

Completely awesome! I was so enthralled reading this book. I don't even know where to begin....

Harry Reznik is investigating a series of very gruesome murders (trust me this is not for the faint of heart). NO leads, NO suspects, NADA. ZILCH. Not until Special Agent Lori Campisi shows up to help him investigate. She has previous knowledge and experience with the "unknown" and the "otherworldly". They are also complete polar opposites, which adds to their tension while working. While they investigate, more people keep dying, and their only developing lead points to what is lurking in the shadows.......OR.....is it the shadows themselves???? 

Excellent read. Fast paced, thrill ride. This book definitely makes you question all of those bumps in the night. I most certainly will be sleeping with the light on tonight!

Here's a summary of the book:

What I love most about this cover is the wicked detailing in the door to the left of the girl. The scroll work is awesome, and I love how it alludes to what is lurking behind the door. I will definitely say the book and the cover are both awesome. Both are very mysterious and interesting. I will be doing a review of this book soon!!!

Review! Currency of Souls

Before I begin I just want to thank Belinda Frisch author of Dead Spell for recommending this awesome book to me. I never would've discovered it had she not.

MY REVIEW:

 I absolutely loved this book. I wish I hadn't been so busy and finished it sooner. While reading this great tale I felt like I was being pulled in multiple directions then spun around    till I fell over, and trust me that was an amazing feeling. Kealan Burke tells a strange and and mind boggling story that keeps you wanting to turn the page. The characters make you want to hug them, punch them, and kill them all at the same time. You want nothing more to grab those keys off of the bar table in the story and drive into some of them. I don't want to give away any spoilers but I'll definitely say I never saw the ending coming!!!   Just read the synopsis, if you don't read the story after that then you will be missing out big time. I loved this tale and can't wait to read more of Kealan Burke's novels.

My First Book Review! Dead Spell.

Ok. This is my first official review. 
I'd like to start off by saying I would have never seen this book had my husband not put it on his "to read" list on Goodreads. This is an awesome read and I highly recommend it.
 Here we go.

TITLE: Dead Spell

AUTHOR: Belinda Frisch

SYNOPSIS: 

Harmony is very outspoken and what you could consider "a wild child" due to a bad home life. She is tormented by a mysterious spirit named Tom. Only her best friend Brea, a much more quiet and reserved teen, knows, and believes Harmony about the ominous ghost. But when the haunting of Harmony ultimately leads to her death, it's up to Brea to find out who or what this "Tom" character actually is, before she becomes the next victim. 

MY REVIEW:

    From the moment I picked up Dead Spell I was completely hooked! I could not put it down. I read this book on my Kindle and it took me maybe two hours.  I read it straight through.  Belinda Frisch tells a wonderful story that makes you understand the true meaning of friendship.  The relationship between Brea and Harmony made me laugh, cry, and even get angry as I followed their journey in this novel. It is very interesting to see the effects on all of the characters based upon  the decisions each girl makes.  

    Belinda paints a wonderful picture of Harmony and her declining mental state as well as Brea's transformation from the meek girl that gets pushed around, to the girl that is standing up for herself and becoming more independent. You support her every step of the way, as she's fighting for the truth. 

    Again. I say I highly recommend this book. It will make you happy and sad. It will make you laugh and even make you afraid of those bumps in the night.

A BEAUTIFUL WEDDING CAKE!

I consider this book as one of My Top 5 of 2011.
